That slight breeze, however, gave me a gorgeous view of Artemisia erupting! It did not work so well at Great Fountain--it went N and S and SE. The road got a bit wet during the first series, but it did not appear that the benches got wet, even though that was was the predominate wind direction. Artemisia now has a sign identifying the feature. The turquoise on gray sign along with another red on gray "don't throw anything in" sign is fastened to a 4 foot section of log placed on the ground, pretty much centered on top of the wall, and about 8-10 feet back from the edge. 2 bicyclists came by Artemisia, although they acknowledged they had seen the "no bikes" sign at Morning Glory. I understand the 13 year old who was evacuated Saturday with a thermal burn had stepped in Shield spring. I have seen nothing on the news or in the paper to confirm that.
