Of possible interest to some in the geyser gazing community: A new Winter Use Plan and Environmental Impact Statement for Yellowstone are currently under preparation. A public comment period is open until March 30. The public is invited to submit any written comments on the issues and alternatives they would like considered in the new plan. Letters to papers here in Montana have included support for the plowing option from West to Madison and Old Faithful during winter months to allow wheeled vehicle access. Others advocate for only limited over-snow vehicle access.
