Just to set the record straight on the OF interchange: According to Mary Shivers Culpin's tome, "The History of the Construction of the Road System . . .", page 179, the interchange was built in 1969. Of course, Phil's precise memories of he old road would also be correct: Culpin doesn't say so, but, no doubt, the old road would have been left as it was until about two years later.
