I wonder how many of you have wanted to do a computer search on GOSA Press' unpublished manuscripts? After many years of looking for an inexpensive method I finally was able to scan them and create searchable Adobe Reader (pdf) documents. Only a few manuscripts are _not_ available in electronic format for reasons which shall remain unstated. Those that are now available for purchase are: "Lesser Known Thermal Features ." (same as paper, in two parts, D1 and D2); ". Norris ." (D3); ". Heart Lake ." (D4); "Inventory ., by . Marler" (D5); "1997 Thermal Observations." (D8); "Potts Hot Spring Basin Survey" (D9); and "Notes on . Lower Geyser Basin ." (D10). Price is $9 each, which represents a considerable savings over paper on several levels. Descriptions are online and on the Mail Order Form. Only difference is the code changes from "P" (printed) to "D" (digital). There are far too many items to display them all in print in the "SPUT". Please visit the online catalog by going to www.gosa.org and click on the GOSA Store button. Even better would be having digital versions of "Transactions" and Scott's "Geysers ." books, but those are unlikely. Gazers could use electronic devices to refer to maps and manuscripts in the basins and backcountry. Speaking for myself and perhaps a few of you, supplementing a sometimes forgetful brain with digital memory would be great. And the backpack might actually get lighter, too!
