Something is not right with the Giant Complex. After yesterday's poor
recovery hot period, today's was worse. Yesterday Grotto started at 1729 and it was
another short marathon, ending today at 0645 for a duration of about 13 1/4
hours. It was obvious from before 0845 that this was another fast recovery --
maybe that's part of the problem (?), though to me it implies that there is
plenty of water available. Anyhow, the recovery hot period began at 1149
(recovery period just 5h 04m), had a duration of 9m 52s, and only occasionally
had Mastiff reach 4 feet or so for brief moments. India was only about 3/4
covered. There was a Feather restart, but it lasted just 2 1/2 minouts or so and
was accompanied by a few surges in Giant.

So now 8 days plus, the longest interval since mid-April.

At around 0900, Fand and Mortar had a decent event cycle, with a River Pause
and one continuous Bottom Vent eruption of nearly 10 minutes. But when Fan
came on, it was clear early that the necessary water just wasn't there.

Daisy at 0529ns, (missed the call), 1016ie, and 1236.

Oblong 0612 and 1107.

Grand last evening was 2022, then 0508E and 1124.

Uncertain was 1213.

Castle was 1040ie with a major.

Depression was called as 1300ie.

Evidently, Beehive erupted sometime this early afternoon for an interval a
bit longer than 2 days.

Great Fountain might have had a rather short overflow, as it appeared to
have just begun at 1317. The eruption started at 1413 (P = 0) and had a
wonderfully powerful first series of bursts.

Labial was recently post-eruption at 1330. And YAY, finally for the first
time in 2007 I caught Pink, 1455ie.

>From Great Fountain, we first saw the Fountain steam cloud at 1405 and, via
that steam, it had a duration of around 32 minutes.
