Reading this replies makes me think getting the license is worth
considering. Most likely I would only use it in the park. But I can see times when it
might be nice to have outside the park. Living in earthquake country it might
come in handy someday. I will make it a winter project, if only to look
into it. The price isn't all that bad considering that the license is good for
5 years. I am a total rookie at all this and most of what you have said to
date is beyond me but I might Be able to learn what I need to pass the test.
That said, our 18 mile radio has a low and hi setting. I am told that as
long as we use them on low we are legal. Can anyone confirm this?

For I KNOW the plans I have for you says the Lord, plans to prosper you and
not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon
me and come and pray to me and I will listen to you. Jeremiah 29:11-12
