Here is a reference to the Rehai geothermal field in the Tengchong
volcanic region of China, western Yunnan Province (in south-central
China). There have apparently been several hydrothermal explosions in the
area, and there is a photograph of an impressive jet of water across a
river.

Of special note is use of the term "intermittent spouting springs" to
describe some of the features.

Geothermics 2005, v. 34 #4 p. 518-526.

A website with some interesting photographs is:

I also found a website that I couldn't access very well that referred to
the names of some of the features, one of them was "Toad Eruption Spring"
and another was "Snatching Birds Pool," said to have the property of
killing birds in mid-flight.
