[Geysers] Blue green algae

Another "Oh, crud."

A study coordinated by a professor at San Diego State University but 
involving people from all over has had results published in the journal 
_Hydrobiologia_ and in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. So, I guess, not 
run-of-the-mill people.

And darn it -- they refer not to cyanobacteria, but to blue-green algae.....

So, what are those things in Yellowstone: bacteria mats or algae mats?
