Geyser Report Saturday, September 19, 2015 Today was "Bikes in the Park" Day--some 400 bicycles going from WYS to Old Faithful and back starting at 0900. Add that to the high volume of vehicular traffic and the wildlife prevalent along that route, and it is no place to be! Nevertheless, I reached Norris about 0645, hoping for Ledge. Ledge vents had no visible water, no very forceful steam. The "pit" was 1/2 mudflat, Jetsam very low. I headed home 0715 hoping to beat the melee on the roadway. Both bison and elk were attracting attention along the W entrance road. The animals are at their prime, gorgeous things. 25 degrees going and coming at that time of morning. The brown grasses had a creamy coating of frost, less noticeable on the lodgepole needles. Once the sun came up it was a beautiful morning, but that sun was blinding to Madison to Norris drivers. I was happy to be heading the other direction and able to enjoy the scenery. Barbara Lasseter -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
