Today was going to be at Norris watching Ledge. MA reported (in
steam) at 1600 yesterday. Time for a new plan.
The lower geyser basin was very foggy this AM. The fog cleared on
geyser hill before 0800. Jim Scheirer saw what he described as the
weakest Depression eruption he had ever seen at 0708. While waiting
for Beehive, there was another, more usual Depression at 0826, less
than 1-1/2hr later. Grand was earlier than anticipated, Beehive was
later than anticipated (24hr 26min interval), and I was at Beehive.
So it goes.
Lots of people on the Hill behind Grand Prismatic as I passed en route
to Great Fountain.
Sam and Dee Holbrook were at Great Fountain with their daughter and
grandson (hope I have the relationships accurately). It was great to
see them. I get a bit older each year, but not Sam, who looks
remarkably young! I was so happy to see them, I forget to take a
family picture.
