Geyser Report Tuesday, September 16, 2014

Work appears to have been completed on extending (hopefully) the
fishermen's trail from the bottom of Daisy trail on the loop road
across iron creek to the rear of Biscuit Basin. The work done a few
years ago ended in a wet spot short of Biscuit--waders required? I
will check it out soon to be sure it now reaches dry land.

After some gazer discussion last month, there was hope we would give a
quick radio call when Old Faithful starts. I try to do this. It
allows gazers to turn from whatever they are doing and enjoy the show,
and to give us some help in responding to visitor queries as to when
to expect the next one.

Fan and Mortar did erupt at 1400 yesterday per gazer report.

VC seems to be predicting Grand with a 2 hr window and Castle plus or
minus 45min.

Today began with heavy cloud cover and even a few sprinkles. Sunshine
peeked through periodically, and it warmed up nicely by mid day. The
southbound traffic was backed up for miles by the cars stopped for a
bison herd on Fountain Flat as I was leaving.

A visitor repeatedly off-trail on geyser hill was taken away by LE.
