[Geysers] Umbrella recovered from Grand

I wouldn't be so quick to criticize Hank for "slow" response. After all,
it required a trip from Mammoth just for the recovery, and he does have
other work to do.

Wish I had been there all summer to handle these chores!

Jim,

Should the "Today" actually be the 19th?; that is, the day after the
umbrella blew into the crater? If so, then why did it take the NPS so long
to take action? Seems to me that Heasler et al. made something of a show of
the situation. But then, I wasn't there.

Today (September 18) I watched as Dr. Heasler's properly-outfitted thermal
cleaning team retrieved from a full and overflowing pool the battered - but
intact - umbrella using a long-handled spoon. Barbara Lasseter took a
picture of Rich returning triumphantly from Grand with the umbrella.
