Yesterday, when I saw a string of utility trucks carry lumber, tools,
etc. down the paved trail past Castle, I had to ask. They are moving
the boardwalk between Scalloped Spring and Sawmill--a big project thru
a critical walkway for visitors and gazers. Fortunately the plan
includes a temporary by-pass trail while the work is being done,
rather than closing that section altogether. The new route will go
between the hot spot on the S side of the walk at Scalloped and
Sawmill's runoff channel, sort of threading the needle. The existing
boardwalk is fast deteriorating in the developing thermals
underneath/beside it. Can't say why the caravan went PAST Castle (to
turn around, maybe?) I didn't see them return.

Another MORNING eruption last night @2043, and this AM at 1105! Lots
of cheering was going on.

Little Cub ie @ 0626
Depression: 0642
Aurum: 0634
Grand was predicted for 0930
Daisy: 0539
Great Fountain: overflow @ 0717, eruption @ 0826

Temps in high 30's at 0530 and lots of drizzle, followed by rain,
which let up by 1000. Skies remained overcast all AM, and my window
in West Yellowstone is dotted with raindrops as I post this.
