If you aren't "100% sure" that an eruption happened, then it most decidedly should not EVER be entered as "assumed," and absolutely, positively never ever should be entered with any sort of time. By contrast, knowing that an eruption did definitely take place without knowing exactly when should be indicated as such but never with any sort of time designation.
