It was tricky watching for Morning's Thief from Great Fountain this
AM. There were big steams from a number of features at Fountain,
including a Kaleidoscope series, all against a very dense white sky.
I have only listed those steams that were observed @ Fountain to be
from Morning's Thief. Before Great Fountain erupted, the skies
cleared up a bit--sunshine!

It rained all the way back to West yesterday, and for at least the
early part of the night. I hope it rained on those fires!

The Canyon to Tower road was closed sometime last week--for roadwork,
not snow, although it may have some snow now. The first wave of rain
I encountered yesterday had snowy bits in the drops. The humidity and
lack of sunshine this AM made it feel colder than the 42 degrees that
the car thermometer read. No smoke, however.

The "Current Geyser Activity" report updated 9-1-12 shows Old Faithful
being predicted at 88 or 62 minutes --plus or minus 10.
The last Giantess eruption was 9-13-11, the last Giant 1-22-10E, last
Steamboat 5-23-05, last known Echinus 6-18-12 (and the one before that
was 12-7-09). All this just in case you've lost track of how long
it's been......
