[Geysers] Normal Fountain

I posted a Fountain time of 1212 to geysertimes a couple/few days ago (not
at the logbook now). The start was witnessed by a guide, and at least 20
minutes of Fountain's eruption was seen by ranger Molly Moore - it was a
normal Fountain.

Look to the right of the photo-at all the undisturbed snow on the slope
leading away from the back of Morning's crater towards the Sprinkler Group.
When Morning is active it floods that area. Even in 1991 and 1994 when it
was erupitng from a 3/4 full pool it poured water to the north down these
old and established runoff channels. My guess is just Morning's Thief. Has
anyone seen anything else since to make us believe Fountain has stopped and
Morning is active?

The following message is from Karen Low. I've resized the photo. Anyone
that wants the original large image, just write and I'll send it. You
can't really see anything more in the larger image. -- Dave

A passenger took this picture on a friend's snowcoach tour. We are
wondering if Morning is erupting or just Morning's Thief. With the two
spikes I'm being indecisive as to how to call it.

We have put a small marker of 3 rocks on top of each other where Fountain's
run off goes under the boardwalk. I'm not able to drive a snowcoach due
to a shoulder injury, but all of the guides are watching it carefully, and
have cameras in hand. None of the guides we have talked to have seen
Fountain in a few days. Why do things always get good right before the
park
closes? We do agree it is Morning's Thief and not Morning that is erupting

solo. We are posting the few times of Jet, Spasm, Super Frying Pan,
Morning's Thief, and hopefully Fountain on the Yellowstone Tour Guides
facebook
page. The West guides are doing there own posts, so I don't always pay
attention. We are all keeping and eye out for this and Giantess!
