I have heard Catfish only once, but several of us were sitting at Splendid at the time. The Memorial Day Giant that followed was rather nice as well. It was incredibly loud with a booming, thunder-like sound that probably could be heard at least over a .4 mile distance, to my ear, nearly as loud as Beehive. Union could be heard throughout Shoshone Geyser Basin and on that one glorious occasion its roar woke me up when I was camped in the woods near the old patrol cabin site (yes, I had a permit for the site).
