Not sure why this hasn't been posted to the geyser list yet. I shall try to
send it again.

Subject: Upper Geyser Basin, 3/21/11
Went out in the basin for a little while today. We had fresh snow last night,
that was wet and heavy, so breaking trail was difficult, and my skis kept icing
up. There is a dead bison on Geyser Hill; If you draw a line from Plume to
Sponge, about a third of the way along that line from Plume is where the dead
bison is. Infant Geyser has a high water level. I saw a couple of nice boils
on Giantess. Doublet was doing some nice thumps when I went by. Dome 1049 ie,
1133ie. Plume 1102.
Sawmill and Tardy both had water in them, but neither was erupting. Penta was
spitting and gurgling, so I think it may have been post-eruptive, but then in
the afternoon, I saw what looked like a steam phase eruption from it (~1330ie,
Tardy was on then too). Grand was an empty hole. Bulger erupted at 1157.
Ran into Carolyn near Giant, and she said she'd seen a pause on Bijou earlier,
and that Riverside was in overflow. So I waited for Riverside, and it erupted
at 1243. Marathon Pool was pretty low, and Grotto was erupting whenever I
looked at it. As I was skiing the bike trail after watching Riverside, it did
look like Bijou was at least very weak, if not off.
Caught Lion 1326ie from near Castle.
