I seem to recall high-water springs in the past where the trail was barricaded at Black Pool and Lakeshore Geyser, but the rest of the basin was open. At the 7:30 evening ranger program on July 17, the ranger told us West Thumb Geyser Basin was closed due to a cow elk that had returned and was causing problems. West Thumb was open again on Monday. I just got back from a 4-day trip to Yellowstone with my grandson, which meant geyser gazing was limited and most of the eruptions we saw have already been reported. However, we did see a series of two Gemini eruptions on July 20. Lynn Stephens -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
