Tara,

I'm processing the February downloads, and have not seen Megan's email.
When do you think the Giant occurred?

Karen, thank you very much for checking into the Giant report. Having that
information to start with would have been helpful, because based on what
Megan reported about water on the platform and Bijou being off, I would say
that Giant probably erupted within 12 hours prior to when Megan found the
signs moved. Depending on the size of the eruption and the wind direction,
the signs don't always move a long way, so the corroborating evidence is
just as important. In this case, it also gives us a clue as to when the
eruption may have occurred.

Thanks to Karen, Carolyn, and Megan.

I asked Megan for details when I was in the Visitor Center today. She said
there was a lot less ice than a few days before, standing water (on a cold
morning) and that Bijou was off. I asked about the possiblity of the signs
being kicked by bison, but she didn't think they would have kicked both
heavy signs that far.
