No report yesterday as I was on tour -- get used to it, as I'll be leaving on Monday (back in early August). This is Thursday, July 2, 2009. Plume intervals 69, 69, 65, 71, 63, 62, and 61 minutes. Beehive yesterday was at about 1427 (on tour, I didn't have my notebook), then this morning Indicator 0339 Beehive 0355 (Oh, those night people -- thanks!) Depression 1014. Lion was splashing at 0700. It was splashing at 1300........... Aurum 1043. Castle last evening 2053 major, today 1023 major. Grand 0005E and 0941 (G2*Q). Sputnik 0554 and 0609; then during Grand a strong multi-vent eruption at 0949. Oblong 0543 and 1003ie (had to actually be ns). Grotto not on at 0715 and on at 0815; Grotto Fountain and Grotto 1258ie. Daisy 0512, missed, 0953, 1204. Riverside 0642 and 1310. Little Brother is still active, intervals around 35 seconds, durations 3 to 5 seconds. I'd been wondering about (Silver Globe) Slit Geyser, as I hadn't seen it with wet formation this season. But this morning at 0637 it was in eruption as seen from the road, and at 1045 the sinter was sopping wet. Great Fountain 0525vr; I arrived in time for the probable 3rd burst at 0558, by which time the visitors had departed so I was all alone. I liked that. Fountain 0609ns. When driving in, at 0545, there was a significantly large steam cloud rising from the area of the Morning Mist Group, as seen from both the Nez Perce Creek bridge and the Mary Mountain trailhead. I can only suspect Morning Mist Geyser. **************Make your summer sizzle with fast and easy recipes for the grill.
