The Curmudgeon here... the NPS press release says: "The 1.5 mile Clear Lake Trail is a popular route that overlooks both the Upper and Lower Falls along the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone." Well.... no. The trail does pass through an active thermal area -- neat mud pots/muddy pools back there, if you haven't been -- but the trail is not along the rim of the canyon and does not overlook either waterfall. Attached is a small GIF, the Canyon map taken from the YELL Website, on which I've schematically added the Clear Lake Trail in red. Makes one wonder....
