[Geysers] Possible new geothermal power plant

Not as-such directly related to geysers, but possibly of interest to list members: plans have been going forward (very quietly) for geothermal power in southwest Alaska for the past two years, and have finally made it into the news this week as drilling is slated to begin this summer.

No geysers in the proposed area, at the west boundary of Katmai National Park. 

If it actually gets built and produces well, there could be discussion of doing the same thing on Akutan and Unalaska islands in a few years. (It's been talked about on Akutan before. Either of those islands is more appealing, in terms of transmission distance to get electricity to markets, than Umnak Island.)
