Most gazers abandoned the UGB today -- I know some went to Norris, others I
don't know.

As of about 1400 this afternoon, one Giant hot period had been observed --
there may have been others (probably not, though -- see next paragraph) -- and
it was at 0951 and lasted all of 1m 23s.

The general feeling is that hot periods are growing progressively weaker and
coming at progressively longer intervals so that they might well stop
entirely in the near future.

The one thing different and resembling 2007 that happened today was Grotto.
Grotto Fountain started at 1143 (d ~ 16 min). Grotto didn't start untin 1157
and then was extremely weak before quitting after a duration of 14 minutes. In
my recollection, though, when this sort of Grotto happened last year, it was
"always" (?) the first after a marathon; this was not after a marathon.

Riverside 0842.

Daisy 0858, 1100, and 1301.

Oblong 0747ie and 1319.

Grand 0550wc and 1336 (T1Q).

Castle had a minor, then the major during the night.

Lion: 0913 was the only one I heard about.

Aurum 0714 and 1144.

Beehive 0550wc.

And I heard only one Plume call all day, which means nothing at all.

Fountain 0659ie and 1424ns.

Great Fountain 0944 (P=9, OV~84).

Logbridge 0912 and 0940.

A-0 0851 and 0922.

A sampling of White Domes gave 0912, 0929, and 0951.

Scott Bryan

Pink Cone 0631 probably ns, giving an interval of roughly 18 1/2 hours.
