Scott,
Are you perhaps referring to the geysers on Enceladus? ( Video at http://www.windows.ucar.edu/tour/link=/saturn/moons/enceladus_geysers_video.html )
Preliminary calculations (back of the envelop type, done without the envelop) indicate that ejecta miss the earth by several astronomical units.
I think a better explanation was that they were rolled up by lost polar bears.

On the right track, but clearly they ARE the interplanetary life, inadvertently blown away from their home by one of those stupid astronomical geysers..... (18 days)

I believe these shapes to be evidence that extra terrestrial life also has interest in the uniqueness of Yellowstone, and that these shapes are the parking platforms for their cloaked interplanetary vehicles. I could be wrong, but . . . .
