Practically of today was spent at or near Giant. Yes, today was only day three of this interval, but... Grotto had started a marathon at 2128 on Friday and that didn't end until somewhere around 0200 today -- a duration of 29 hours + or - . So we waited for the recovery, which took about 12 hours and finally began at 1426. Some interesting stuff happened toward the end of the time, such as really high water levels in The GIP and three (or was it four?) consecutive Mastiff bathtubs before the hot period finally started. Alas, the hot period was briefly strong but short, d ~ 5 1/2 minutes, and never threatened any eruption. Overheard on the radio (mostly): Artemisia 1022, for an interval a few minutes longer than 24 hours. Riverside 1249. Daisy was 0920 and 1222. Oblong at 1032 was huge -- certainly the tallest I've seen in 2007. Grand was 0606ie (-2C) and 1305 (T1C). I did see Penta in full major eruption at 0810ie. Lynn called Tilt's Baby at 1249 and 1408, but I don't know if that's a closed interval or not. Castle had a morning minor at 0609E and then a major at 1346. Lions were called at 0938 and 1110. Aurum was radioed as 1108ie. Somebody (Dave?) advised us of Fountain at 1113, d ~ 33m. And after the Giant hot peirod finally happened, some of us rushed down to find that Great Fountain was completely finished by 1500.
