hiya all, time for a geyser report to start off the winter season. today my main plan was to see grand and to see what grotto was up to. when i left the boardwalks at about 1600 grotto was still going strong and giant was very quiet. so i am guessing grotto was in a long marathon. while out and about i did see a few other geysers too. oblong was the first of the day at 0945 then again at 1326ns. the first eruption worked out perfectly. just as i walked up to it, the thumping began followed by a very steaming eruption. the temp was about 15 degrees or so. my plan to see grand didn't quite work out this time. after hanging out for a few hours i decided to move on down towards riverside. it was at overflow upon arrival and erupted shortly thereafter at 1459. riverside looked quite nice with a blue sky behind it and no wind. while watching i turned back to see grand ie at 1455. it appeared to just have one burst. and of course i did catch daisy a couple of times too at 1032 1316. so thats it for all the action of today. since ill be working tomorrow getting ready to start guiding xanterra snowmobile tours, i wont be able to get out to watch some giant hot periods. fan and mortar appeared to have not errupted lately.
