[Geysers] Kilauea Iki, 1959

Here is a link to a YouTube movie on the 1959 Kilauea Iki eruption.  The 
linked movie is part 2 of 4.  I think all 4 parts are worth watching.

During the eruption, the lava fountain cycled like a geyser.  Eruptions began 
with welling over the vent.  The eruption could begin explosively, and the 
movie shows one spectacular start where the lava fountain goes from zero to 
700 feet in a few seconds, much like the start of Old Faithful.

Additionally, the lava lake drained back into the vent inbetween active 
phases.  It really does look like a geyser operating at 4 times the absolute 
temperature and 10 times the height of a water geyser.
