Giant erupted this morning (8/10) at 05:48; normal function; on a Feather restart. Yesterday Giant was having hot periods and/or bathtubs about every hour. Per Kitt, these continued throughout the night (she gave me the details, which I entered into the OFVC logbook.) None of the hot periods broke the 8 minute mark until the one that started at 0537 this morning. Feather did shut off for 4 to 5 seconds during the hot period prior to the eruption. Grotto had a marathon that started at 19:44 on 8/6 and shut off between 16:30 and 17:30 on 8/7. There was a 6 minute hot period at 6:10ns on 8/8, followed by about a 25 minute Grotto eruption that started at 06:53 on 8/8. There was another Grotto at 12:03 on 8/8/07 that was still ie at 21:30 on 8/8, with probable shutoff somewhere before 2 am. The next event that was witnessed was a Giant hot period at 07:24 on 8/9, that lasted 3m03s, so probably wasn't the first hot period after the Grotto shutoff. Hot periods started occurring about hourley. There was a Grotto Fountain at 13:14; Grotto at 13:41 off 14:20. THe next Grotto fountain was 20:48 with Grotto at 20:53 (from Kitt, who didn't have the stop time on Grotto.) Grotto Fountain was ie at 1:38, end at 1:53, with Grotto ie at 1:40, stop 2:48, with the stop preceded by a Rocket major at 2:46ie. Grotto started again at 7:01 this morning. As I am typing this, I haven't heard a duration call for Giant yet. Lynn Stephens _________________________________________________________________ Messenger Café — open for fun 24/7.
