Today's report will be somewhat short, as I spent most of my time at and near Giant, waiting out the recovery from yesterday's Grotto marathon. The marathon probably ended in the vicinity of 0500 (+ or -, definitely), this based on general appearances including a trace of steam from catch basins a few minutes before 0800. Variable Spring had barely recovered, Marathon Pool was way down and bubbling, Bijou was totally dead. 0500 would have been a 19 1/2 hour marathon. Water began occasionally appearing in Mastiff -- both front and back -- at about 0900, and every time that quit there was a bit of jetting in Catfish. So I guesstimated, and hoped, for a recovery hot period at around 1400. It happened at 1245ie, as seen by Karen Low. Sounded like it lasted only around 5 minutes and apparently had Mastiff only briefly to 2 or 3 feet. With rather strong wind, Daisy was 0938ie and 1225. Only saw one Oblong, at 1036. Grand was 0530E, then nicely short at 1209 (G2C). (Yesterday afternoon's eruption turned out to be 1412, 1 burst. I never heard a time between the 1612 and 0530.) Plume wasa 1201 and 1253. There was a Lion at 1202, not initial. I never went to Geyser Hill today, but from afar, Beehive appeared unchanged. Stopped at Fountain on the way out, and though the formation was dry, Jet only give me one 14 minute interval. So I left there a bit before 1500.
