Went out in the basin this afternoon and here are a few notes from the trip:

The rest of the roof and most of the remaining wall structure was removed from the old VC today - I expect that it will be completely gone by opening day.

-Sawmill was in eruption each time I went by. Penta was also having sporadic steam phase "eruptions".

-Grand was nearing first overflow when I was on my way out of the basin around 1730

-Bear tracks near Economic area and Chromatic Pool (on and off the boardwalk)

-Beauty Pool in overflow

-Walked up on Oblong going into eruption overflow (a rarity for me) - eruption was at 1714

-Giant - signs still in place. Platform wet all the way down to India but it appeared that it was quite a way into drying (meaning puddles in the middle of stretches of dry rock). Bijou on . . .

-Grotto - quiet, appeared to be at least an hour or two away from the next eruption. I could not tell how long it had been since the last eruption or what sort of eruption it was but the runoff channels were fairly dry and water levels were normal (i.e. Variable Spring full) in all nearby features.

-Riverside empty

That's all for now.

Take care,

Matthew
