1. At 04:16 yesterday, May 19, there was a magnitude 3.8 earthquake within
Yellowstone. The epicenter was about 31 miles southeast of Old Faithful/20
miles southeast of West Thumb, and therefore several miles southeast of Heart
Lake. Unaware of the quake until today's newspaper (no seismograph at the VC !
), I'm quite certain there were no quake-induced changes in the UGB.

2. People coming to the park for the Memorial Day period might like to know
that the high temperatures are expected to be about 20 degrees cooler than
than they are now. (Today's forcast for Bozeman 83; next Friday's forcast 63).
