1. I don't know the source of the name. 2. It is on the side of the pool away from the lake, about midway or maybe a little north of midway along that side of Black Pool. I haven't looked closely for months now, so I am hazy about the exact distance from the rim but I'd guess it at maybe two meters (7 feet or so). I will be there in a week or so and will look more closely. 3. I have not personally seen an eruption, but it has been described as similar to North Goggles minor activity. 4. At least one of them is interested in the origin of the name also. A small vent less than a foot in diameter. I've got to ask -- Ralph might be on the road now, but apparently Mike Keller knows the location of this feature, called "Skinny Man" Geyser. I gotta know, given that the "old" North Star Geyser is somewhere within a few meters of Black Pool (though more to the southwest). So: 1. What is the source of this name. 2. Is it actually west, or is it possibly to the southwest of Black Pool. And can "a few meters" be defined? 3. Any info about the nature of this activity? 4. What might be the opinion of Mammoth-Gardiner people about this name? Scott Bryan -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
