Yesterday's Grotto marathon ended smetime in the early afternoon, and was a
relatively short marathon. The recovery hot period was about 2 1/2 hours
later and lasted about 8 1/2 minutes.
Grotto was ie this morning at 4:40 ie (thanks Graham) and is once again
marathoning today.

Beehive was 13:13 yesterday (6/11) following a 10 minute Indicator and 12:28
today (6/12).

I took advantage of the Grotto marathon yesterday to time a complete cycle
of Till minor eruptions following the major. Last year was the first year I
had noticed any major change in the minor eruptions, with the first and/or
second minors lasting about 5 minutes instead of the normal 1-2 minutes.
Yesterday the major eruption had a duration of 32 minutes. The first minor
started 16 minutes after the major ended and lasted 5 minutes. The interval
between the first and second minors was 15 minutes, Then Till settled into
the short duration minors with intervals of 10 minutes declining to a
minimum of 7 minutes before increasing back to 10 to 12 to 13 o 15 to 19 to
21 minutes. There were only 16 minors in the series, but because the
interval between the first and second was 15 minutes, the total time from
start of the major to end of the last minor was 3 1/2 hours.

Animal story for the day: Last night another volunteer was telling me about
the group of people standing on Fishing Bridge looking north watching the
Pelicans while a grizzly bear crossed over the bridge on the south side of
the bridge. Most of the people were so engrossed in the pelicans, they
didn't even realize the bear was also using the bridge.

Visitor comment of the day: Grandmother said to her granddaughter, who
looked to be about 2 1/2 years old, "Look, Lily, do you see that thing
spraying up water?" (referring to Clepsydra Geyser)
Lily: "No, it's burping. It's burping up snow and it's making clouds."

Weather: Rain and windstorm last night but sunny so far today. The
mosquitoes are plentiful, as are the bumblebees.
