[Geysers] Thanks to geyser people last week...

I think it takes all kinds of people to make a world, and the GOSA member
who is happy and friendly one day may not necessarily be talkative and
open the next. On top of this, persons who are involved in scientific
inquiry, as Geyser enthusiasts frequently are, may be in the midst of
concentration and by necessity may wish to keep their conversations
focused. The person who briefly outlined the Little Squirt - Beehive idea
for us was in the throes of an Anemone Geyser study, which we recognized,
and her pleasant yet businesslike manner was entirely appropriate under
the circumstances.

I agree it would be generally great if GOSA members would act as gushing
ambassadors for the organization and Park and thermal features that they
love so well, but as "visitors" (which the July 14 letter points out) they
are no more obliged to act this part than the average visitor.
Ultimately, just being one's self is probably the best course of action;
some acquaintances will respond positively, others will not, but the
visitor who is there to see the Park and its features rather than to
socialize is still likely to come away with the appropriate sense of awe
and respect for what Nature has accomplished.
