[Geysers] Saturday in the Park

A brief journey through the upper geyser basin on Saturday, Feb. 11 2005.
First stop: Grand Geyser, at 1130 it was empty, Rift and West Triplet were
i.e.  Vent & Turban were quiet.  On To Giant, Lion was called at 1147.
At Giant, Bijou was active and Giant was splashing in the cone.  Bijou
off at 1222, Feather came on at 1223 hot period lasted 2 min 20 sec.
Feather & Southwest vents, Mastiff had 1 1ft surge, Giant had several
splashes out of the cone. Nothing to get excited about.  Riverside
started at 1226.  Stopped at Oblong on the way back, it was overflowing
but unfortunately did not erupt.  Noticed that (New) geyser was erupting to
4 to 6 ft.  Passed Grand on return, Turban was i.e at 1302. Got to geyser
hill at 1315, Lion erupted at 1319.  Old Faithful at 1326.  and Plume at
1339.
Cold morning, -24 overnight.
Fan & Mortar is still dormant under its blanket of snow.
