Hello all,

Okay - here is info and you can make your own conclusions:

Giant erupted on 4/13

On 4/15 Mike Keller and Chase Ellison reported on Giant's recovery. I
assume that the signs were either already replaced at that time or were
replaced during their observations (I talked to Chase and he believes that
they were there)

On the evening of 4/16 I found Giant very quiet (thought it was after a
marathon) and the signs were washed!!!

On 4/17 the signs were replaced and Carolyn Loren reported them washed on
4/19

There was an eruption of Giant on 4/23. David Goldberg told me that the
signs were replaced after the eruption.

On 4/27 I went out to watch for a marathon recovery hot period and the signs
were washed (Replaced by Katy Duffy and Patrick Matheney last night)

This seems to point to eruptions on 4/13, between the evening of 4/15 and
4/16, between the evening of 4/17 and 4/19, 4/23, and sometime between 4/23
and the evening of 4/27!!! Any thoughts on this??

Tonight a big marathon recovery hot period. Marathon ended around 1530.
Arrived at 1825 to find water once again cycling up and down in Mastiff.
After about an hour Bijou showed signs of life. Soon it was easy to notice
the pauses in Bijou and the rises in Mastiff every 5 to 15 minutes. There
were a couple of decent Mastiff fills before it finally started to come up
for a full hot period at 2036. Feather started at 2038 soon followed by
Feather Satellite and the Southwest Vents. There was decent boiling in
Mastiff 2 to 5 feet for the first three minutes. There was also a vent
behind and to the right of Catfish that I have never seen before that joined
in to about a foot. Rust soon started as well. Mastiff increased in
strength and overflow until it reached from 6 feet to the height of the
cone. Late in the 2043 minute Mastiff went flat and soon drained. Shortly
after, Bijou restarted and Feather and Feather Satellite stopped at 2044
(Giving the hot period of a duration approximately 6 minutes)

Other geysers:

Daisy 1850ns
Riverside 2017
Castle 2017

I heard that Geyser Hill has been closed because a Grizzly Sow and two cubs
have been seen in the vicinity. Not sure if it is still closed.

That is all for now,

-Matthew
