I have seen the Purple Pools take up to 2 weeks to recover from Giant, but
most times it takes 1-5 days.

Subject: [Geysers] Geyser Report - 4-16-06
Hello all,
A quick report for today-
Dome still active but all subterranean from what I saw
Beehive quiet around 1530
Depression and Aurum both post eruptive at 1540 and 1545 respectively
Riverside was 1555ie from near Grand (but was just finishing at 1615 so that
was probably a near start time)
Oblong was post eruptive (a boiling fill 2 feet down) at 1605.
Chromatic in control
Daisy 1603
F&M marked
Grotto - possible overnight marathon - quiet when I was there and there was
no water in Bijou the whole time I was at Giant. Also, Giant's cone was
very quiet the entire 45 minutes I was there (approx 1605 to 1650). Another
thing was that it appeared that there was no water in South Purple Pool
across the way (Perhaps this has to do with recovery after the eruption the
other day - I am sure that there are many out there who would know about
this better than me)
On my way back I arrived at the Sawmill complex around 1700 to find it in a
Tardy Cycle. I was chased off about 35 minutes later by lightning and hail.
When I left, Penta's pool was near overflow with heavy convection over the
vents each time the pool rose and I would not have left it under normal
circumstances. The was no marker on it when I arrived and the runoff
channel appeared recently used (very wet!! but it did rain earlier in the
day so hard to tell for sure)
That's all for now! Take care,
Matthew
