[Geysers] Geyser Report 10-25-05

A few things happening over the past few days:


Basin Spring is active.  It started erupting about 6 weeks ago, but in the
past week the intervals have shortened to 4-12 minutes.  Most eruptions are
reaching 2-3 feet.

 

"Pathetic Little Hole"-There have been no follow up eruptions seen since the
weekend.  The spring is now a milky-colored pool and is having frequent
eruptions to 2-4 feet.

 

Sawmill Geyser has been in control the past few days.

 

Grotto Geyser started a marathon on 10-25.  Giant is having at least one big
hot period in daylight hours.  On 10-24 there was an 8 minute hot period
around 1300, a "bathtub" at 1608, and a 4m 04s hot period at 1708.

 

Fan and Mortar still have not erupted.

 

Both Honeycomb and UNNG-12 were seen in eruption in the Kaleidoscope area on
10-20.

 

While thermal cleaning on 10-22 at Midway I had a peek into Opal Pool.  The
water level has come up about 8 feet in the past few weeks but is still
several feet below overflow.
