Grand did manage to have a second daylight eruption yesterday, erupting at a 6 hour 32 minute interval. Eruption--T1Q. It also had two daylight eruptions today, 0755 T1C, and 1518, T1C. I haven't seen a two-burst eruption since September 30.
Castle minored again yesterday at 18:30, apparently had a major at 00:36 (electronic) and had a major at 14:09 today.
Little Squirt was ie at 17:00 yesterday and Beehive hasn't been seen yet today. Since the bubblers at the base of the cone weren't funcational when I came in, it doesn't appear that Beehive will have a daylight eruption today.
The Grotto marathon was still ie at 7:40 this morning, off at 8:40, for a duration of 22-23 hours. The recovery hot period was at 1234. It lasted 15 minutes 40 seconds, although Feather's activity during the last 4-5 minutes was more like restart activity. Turtle bubbled up to 6-8 inches high. Giant was having vertical splashing--more like burping--rather than surging although it did have one that sloshed water out the cone. India was covered early in the hot period. Mastiff surging varied from 1-4 feet to calm to surging to calm, etc. Cave burbled an inch or so. We're hoping for another hot period before dark.
Steve Robinson noted that Solstice was having intermittent eruptive activity this morning while they were waiting for the Giant hot period.
Great Fountain backed up again today. It was ie at 1319. I left right after the Giant hot period, but didn't get down to the Lower Basin for the start.
Pink Cone was ie at 1322. Rolling it backward at 20 hour intervals, I was projecting 1849 so it averaged a little under 19 hours over the last five intervals.
Daisy has been having 3+ hour intervals. The prediction midpoint was moved out to 3 hours 15 mintues awhile ago.
Weather--More like fall weather instead of winter weather today but the forecast for the weekend isn't very good.
Visitor Question: Does the water for the geysers come from underground?
Another raven story--Yesterday morning the custodial crew had set a garbage bag outside the VC door to pick up as they left, which they do every morning. Some visitor had dumped some leftover food in the wastebasket, which was in the bag that was now sitting outside. The ravens had attacked the bottom of the bag, extracting the food and were having a feast for breakfast.
