A homeowner sometimes gots things to do, especially when his wife will finally be here in a few days, so I was in the park for a rather short time today. In part, too, this was because of when things erupted, leading to a dull time in the basin. So saw in Basin order: Plume (59, 61, 59, and 64 minutes -- though not as extreme as a few days ago, the 64 minute interval was that in which Beehive erupted). Beehive at 1118 with a 10-minute Indicator. Lion initial at 1232, after at least 4 1/2 hours of splashing. Aurum at 1041, when I was halfway back toward Lion. Grand at 0827, in the presence of zero other people. Gorgeous though only a G1C. The four most recent intervals have been 6h 28m (G2-), 7h 21m, 8h 55m, and today's 7h 05m. Castle, a major at 1052. Oblong, weak Giant Hot Period at 0825 ie, Rocket major at 0817, Daisy at 0839 and --well, shucks, I didn't write it down (!) but ie shortly after Beehive. I also had Fountain 0709 ns. Silex appears to have quit, as no evidence of significant action since the 17th. Sitting here in the afternoon I put together the "Beehive List" for April 22 to May 25. Make what you will of it, but I am pretty well convinced that at least since May 17 the intervals are all singles -- just too much early morning activity to allow a nighttime eruption. The data is presented as day (starting with April 22)/time/observed interval 22/1847/----- 23/1059/16:12 24/1226/25:27 25/1740/29:14 26/1114/17:34 27/1513/27:59 28/none recorded 29/1402/----- 30/0937/19:35 1/1621/30:44 2/0951/17:30 3/1503/29:12 4/0940/18:37 5/1841/33:01 6/1018/15:37 7/1510/28:52 8/0817/17:07 9/1503/30:46 10/0754/16:51 11/1118/27:24 12/none recorded 13/1959/----- 14/1249/16:50 15/none recorded 16/1153/----- 17/1605/28:12 18/1318/21:13 19/1216/22:58 20/1131/23:15 21/1159/24:28 22/0930/21:31 23/nighttime/18:00 est and 23/1838/15:00 est, Little Squirt all day plus Scuba 24/1313/18:35 25/1118/22:05 Ooooh, now the mystery -- what will the recorder eventually show?
