I am ignorant of many things, and right now I don't know where Forgotten
Fumarole is. Might someone enlighten me? Thanks!
Next to the trail that runs from below the Norris Museum toward Minute
Geyser. It is slightly off trail, to the right when going in that direction.
Forgotten, so called, as it was well removed from trail and road until realignment of
the trail in 1993, though the name dates to the early 1980s or even mid-late
1970s... In May 2004 I saw Forgotten spouting a bit of water to maybe 6 feet
-- very wet steam, really, but enough to cause me to put it into the rewrite of
my book. To my knowledge, it had _never_ been known to do more than steam
before then. Then came the September activity -- starting the day I left West Y
to come back to California. Nuts. Nearby is Rediscovered Geyser -- well, in
1974 it was Scotty's Spouter. So there.
