It is my judgement, as one of the moderators, that the previous posts on 
Mt. St. Helens were within the scope of the charter of this list.  We have 
a nearly 11 year tradition of discussing volcano eruptions.  The only 
difference is that this time we have list members who live within sight of 
the volcano, so we are getting more posts about the eruption than normal.
