Due to a combination of things to do, bad weather, a trip to Bozeman, and etc., I haven't written since last Monday, and even this is fairly short. Howver, I did go in for a while today and got caught up on some basic info. 1. Plume is dormant. It seemed "normal" on Wednesday. On Thursday, June 2, just three intervals were recorded, and they are believed to have been closed intervals: 2h10m, 2h33m, and 3h19m. That last eruption was at 1930, and Plume had not been seen since then (as of about 1100 on June 4). 2. Fan and Mortar erupted this morning, at 0732. Exactly one visitor, no gazer was at the scene at the time. Evidently, some never got there at all, thinking the steam cloud was from Grotto. (Me? I was departing West at about that time.) 3. More on Beehive below but two things here. Yesterday at 1143 it had another no-Indicator eruption, and this was again NO Indicator, none at any time before or during the eruption. Also, in the VC logbook is an entry for Beehive from last evening, at 2120 visitor report. However, I think that report is probably in error, as gazers on the Hill today said nothing about it and, indeed, noted the 1143 as the "last." I therefore delete the 2120 report from the following: In the following for Beehive the format is as before -- date/time/interval/Indictor BEEHIVE 5-29/1001/-----/no Indicator 5-30/1101/25h00m/Ind=12 5-31/1028/23h27m/Ind=14 6-01/none seen 6-02/0556ns/-----/ 6-03/1143/29h47m/no Indicator 6-04/1044/23h01m/Ind=13 For GRAND I present the consecutive intervals, starting from 0350 on May 29 and ending with this morning's at 0859: 6h22m (T2C), 8h38m (G1C), 6h34m, 7h27m, 9h03m (G2C), 7h40m, 7h02m, 6h40m, 7h29m, 6h25m, 7h45m (T1C), 7h41m (T2C), 5h47m, 8h07m (T1Q), 7h53m (T1Q), 6h37m, 7h47m (T2C), 8h47m (T1C), 7h09m, 8h16m. OOOh -- did you notice the interval of 5h47m? That would seem to be real -- both the prior and the following eruptions were seen, the intervals seem normal, and so on. For those eruptions, the data is: 6-01/2036/7h41m/T2C 6-02/0223e/5h47m 6-02/1030/8h07m/T1Q Scott Bryan -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
