All, Giantess was first seen at 0826ie by NPS Ranger Carolyn Loren (forgive me if I misspelled your name!). From the seismograph it appears to have started around 0200. The eruption is a water phase. At times in the late morning and early afternoon today there have been bursts up to 100 feet. Plume was erupting at 65-90 minute intervals today. Beehive's cone was white and dead at 1005. Sawmill was in control today, with at least one deep drain eruption in the morning. Daisy had a closed interval of 2h30m. Giant/Grotto-Grotto had a marathon overnight. Mike Lang witnessed a 7+ minute hot period yesterday afternoon about an hour into Grotto. Mastiff surged to 4 feet and there was vertical surging in Giant. The recovery hot period probably took place around 0500 this morning. There was a short (3m 02s) hot period at 1126, followed by a 7m 46s hot period at 1327. During the longer hot period, Mastiff surged to 3 feet but there was no restart from Giant's cone. Over the past week, the discharge from Mastiff has gotten heavier during hot periods. Still no Fan and Mortar. The last one happened overnight 1/23 to 1/24. MK -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
