<html> <head> <style></style></head> <body class='hmmessage'><div dir='ltr'>One thing I failed to mention in my last post was that in retrospect, it is quite possible that Morning erupted on June 18.  I missed the evidence at the time because I was unaware that Morning was active (Maureen Edgerton had seen signs on June 13, but we did not know for sure until June 20).<br><br>On June 18, Fountain had an interval we estimated at about 16 hours.  (The early eruption was estimated at about 0300-0330 and the next eruption finally occurred at 1931.)  It was VERY windy that day so that was probably a factor, but there was also no activity in Morning's Thief prior to Fountain and Twig started less than 24 minutes after Fountain.  So that interval is certainly a candidate for an intervening Morning eruption.  One thing I do not remember now (again, I was not looking for signs of Morning) is the water levels in Fountain and Morning when I arrived around 1230.  I did not watch the water level in Fountain while I waited because the wind was so strong I could barely stand up on the lower boardwalk.<br><br>Also, I sincerely apologize for not properly recognizing the gazers who helped gather data about Fountain and Morning this year.  The biggest THANK YOU goes to Maureen Edgerton for her many observations.  If she had not reported the eruption on June 20, I certainly would not have seen Morning on June 21, and she also clued me in to the duration-interval relationship and that an Twig start was a sign that Morning had erupted.  Thank you also especially to Lynn Stephens and Chris Daubert, and everyone else who shared their observations and data.<br><br>--Tara Cross<br>fanandmortar@hotmail.<br><br><br> </div></body> </html>
