Today I saw David Goldberg who checked the geyser near Sponge yesterday 19 August and confirmed that it is eruptions of Slot Geyser that we are seeing. I've corrected the header in order to get proper times. Eruptions times obtained from the corrected stream have been confirmed with reports from the park. Bad headers occur about once a month. I believe they occur when the stream has been running too long causing an error when one of the parameters in the header gets too big (possibly a frame counter). To fix the problem the NPS administrator has to access the stream server which will hopefully happen soon.
