<div>Greetings and Salutations,</div> <div> </div> <div>I have a few reports from the end of the season for the week of November 1 to 7 2010.</div> <div> </div> <div>First for Black Sand Basin, most of the basin is normal, or at least as much as I could tell in the short time I was there. Spouter and Cliff were normal. Ragged and Jagged springs did erupt, but they were just a few feet high. UNNG-BSB 2 was not erupting. I did see it do a weak intermittant overflow but that was all. If the interval was long enough I would have missed it however. Handkerchief Pool, Handkerchief Spring, and UNNG BSB-5 were all active. Unfortunately, Rainbow pool and Sunset Lake were not active. Cinnamon Spouter was a perpetual spouter as usual. The springs under the boardwalk to Sunset Lake continue to be active, maybe a bit bigger. The little spring to the East of the Boardwalk half way to Emerald Pool was boiling/bubbling with continuous overflow. Nothing was seen from Sunlight Geyser or UNNG BS B-1. The steam vent between Spounter and Iron Creek is still active but weaker than it was this spring. Whisler is still dormant. </div> <div> </div> <div>In Biscuit Basin Rusty Geyser is still a dependable performer. Dusty Geyser is still dormant. I did look at Ralph Taylor's data on Mercury Geyser (thanks Ralph), it appears it is dormant for hours to days, then is active for several hours, but not at all dependable. The pool of Black Diamond is now at the same level as the pool of Black Opal. I think it has washed away the ground between the two pools. Shell Geyser is active. Both Jewel Geyser and East Mustard Geyser were active with intervals of about seven minutes. Avoca spring was still having intermittant boiling periods about one a munute but the height was only about a foot or so. I saw nothing out of the Silver Globe group. I saw Outpost Geyser in the area to the north but nothing else erupted while I was watching. </div> <div> </div> <div>In the lower geyser basin Fountain continues with eruptions about every six hours. Morning's Thief continues to join in with one or two eruptions during the first few minutes of Fountain's eruption. I suppose there could be times when it has three eruptions but I only saw one or two eruptive periods. Spasm usually but not always erupts before Fountain sometime before Fountain starts. Twig sometime starts during Fountain's eruptions. Jelly was clear all the last week so there was no evidence of any eruptions from Jelly. Nothing from Sub or Old Cone either. </div> <div> </div> <div>In Serendipity Meadow UNNG SDP-1 was active with intervals of about 40 seconds and durations of about six seconds. The spring on the southeast end of the meadow is acting as a geyser with intervals of one minute, durations of 23-30 seconds and heights of about a foot or a bit more. Lemon spring is quite hot, a beautiful light blue color with steady overflow most of the time however one time I drove by and Lemon Spring was a few inches below overflow. </div> <div> </div> <div>During the week I saw Botryoidal, A-0 and Filial all erupt. I saw Logbridge bubbling but did not stay around to see the eruption. Great Fountain was coming out of wild phase and had several days of overflow and drop, overflow and drop activity. Finally when it did start erupting it went into an interval of about 11 hours however the period of overflow before the eruptions were longer, in the two hour to two and a half hours of overflow before eruptions. I did see a series of Gemini once during the week on 11-7-10. The interval on Pink Cone appeared to average just under 24 hours but the range appeared to be in the 21 to 27 hour range. Most of the first part of the week it was erupting between 0800 and 1230 but by the end of the week it was erupting before 0800. I heard reports of Pink Geyser and Narcissis but did not see them myself. Bead Geyser and Box Spring were active also. Artesia is erupting with rare eruptions to 15 feet but most are only a few feet high. Last year on closing week Artesia was frequently active to 15 feet on most eruptions. </div> <div> </div> <div>The Kaleidoscope group was mostly quiet, or perhaps mostly screened by Clepsydra for the week.
