Bears:    Around 1110, a Xanterra tour guide approached me and Scott Grisso and asked us to report to the Visitor Center via FRS that she and her tour group had just seen a grizzly from the boardwalk at Morning Glory Pool.  She then pointed downstream and tried to point it out to us crossing the river to our side.  We didn't see it, but visitors coming back from Morning Glory confirmed that they'd watched it cross.  We have no idea where it went from there.    Also, a slight clarification of the report of a gazer's equipment being mauled at Artemesia:  The equipment in question was a brand new camp chair, and the reason it had been left overnight near Artemesia the was the sudden and unexpected appearance of the bear.  The pieces that were chewed and spit out by the bear reportedly smell "very bad."  So apparently, if you're thinking about manufacturing a cologne out of bear slaver, you might want to look into a new business plan.
