----------------------------------------------------</p><p><strong>Yellowstone National Park Solicits Comments<br>
 For Heart Lake Trail Project</strong></p><p>Yellowstone National Park is soliciting comments for a proposed
project to do routine trail work on part of the Heart Lake Trail.&nbsp; The
project will focus on the portion of the trail near its junction with
the South Boundary Trail.&nbsp; This is also the vicinity of the confluence
of Red Creek and the Snake River.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p>The main intent of the project will be to reestablish trail tread
that is prone to erosion.&nbsp; This will be accomplished with the
construction of new erosion control devices and replacing tread.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Crews will install a system of drains and retainers using both stone
and timber structures.&nbsp; These structures will have the purpose of
limiting water flow retaining tread material.&nbsp; Also, when necessary,
ruts will be filled using rock and soil.</p><p>The project will be done by National Park Service staff in
partnership with the Montana Conservation Corps.&nbsp; Funding for the
project is being considered through Wyoming Department of State Parks
and Cultural Resources Recreational Trails Program.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p>Written comments should be received no later than October 26, 2009.&nbsp;
